If you haven’t noticed yet, we’ve added a page to our Spotsylvania Regional website called “People are Talking.” It includes several short vignettes from patients who were touched by those of you who work tirelessly to make the patient experience a positive one.

Here’s just a few:

  • Denise in physical therapy was wonderful.
  • Nice hospital. Stacey and Rachel were GREAT! Maria was very polite and nice from cafeteria.
  • Room was very clean and housekeeping staff were friendly.
  • Dr. Aiken also very nice. Thanks to Pat and Harlee for coming to my room to talk and draw pictures. VERY caring staff.
  • Was seen in ER by a wonderful staff within 10 minutes. Kudos to your facility.
  • We just love this place. I was a patient here in May and my wife has been here two times this week. This is hands down the best care in the area.
  •  (The hospital) opening is the best thing that has happened to us. We’re glad to share that with you and everyone we know.

For these patients, the experience they had at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center is a gift that they will keep and share with others for a very long time. Your caring, compassionate attitude is the reason they left our facility with that gift. It is also the reason we consistently receive high patient satisfaction scores – staying #1 in the Division and #4 in HCA!

As we close out our first entire year – a full twelve months – there are stories all around us of about the experiences people have encountered: the new babies, the successful stemi, the patient who left our hospital with a smile. There were also the challenges: equipment that didn’t work as planned, the physician’s frustration, the long hours. And yet with each experience, whether a challenge or opportunity, you touched a life.

It has been said that “Lasting joy is found not in what you get, but in what you give.” The coming of the new year is on the horizon. A bright new future awaits each of us if we take the time to remember the elements of that quote: giving brings lasting joy. You are the gift to those you serve.

Season’s greetings and happy holidays to you and your loved ones!
