Emergency Department Transitions Back to Electronic Physician Documentation

We recognize that a major frustration of the medical staff has been the use of the Paper T-sheet for physician documentation in the Emergency Department. The Paper T-sheet, while efficient from an ED provider use standpoint, can sometimes be difficult to read/interpret and is not immediately available through Meditech or Hcare for those seeking the information immediately after an Emergency visit. As you can imagine, this can be quite cumbersome for hospitalists, specialists and other community physicians to get clear and accurate information in a timely fashion.

Recognizing this concern, we have taken the necessary steps to transition our Emergency Department back to electronic physician documentation. This will allow for all patient documentation to reside within our electronic medical record and be available nearly instantaneously. The go-live for the transition is scheduled for the 2nd week of March.

We sincerely that you for your patience in this transition, your support of your physician colleagues in the Emergency Department and your commitment to serving our patients with the highest level of service and quality.
