SRMC Inaugural Golf Tournament – May 23

Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center is hosting its Inaugural Golf Tournament to benefit Rappahannock United Way to be held on May 23, 2012 at Fawn Lake Country Club.

Intensivists at SRMC

The Intensivist program began on April 9, 2012 at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center. Intensivists are Board Certified Critical Care physicians and now provide coverage in our ICU.  This care is being provided by ICC: Intensive Care Consultants located in Florida. Currently,  ICC operates Intensivists programs in 12 HCA hospitals across the country as well as 7 non-HCA programs in Texas, California, Colorado and Michigan. Dr. Helen Bellar has joined the SRMC Intensivists team to start the program and has been a physician in the Fredericksburg area for over 10 years. Dr. Elbage will be on board soon. Marketing Update

Spotsylvania Regional has added two new signs that include LED boards: one is located at the intersection of Rt. 1 and Spotsylvania Parkway and another at Rt. 17 and Hospital Blvd. The signs display the ER wait time, event announcements, time and temperature, and service line information.

Our new print and radio campaign called “Quality Matters. Choose Wisely.” was launched with new ads and billboards on I95 south at mile marker 133, I95 north at mile marker 118, downtown on Lafayette Street, and digital boards on Rt. 1 and Rt. 17.

To showcase our service lines, the “Quality Matters. Choose Wisely.” concept of the caring hands is illustrated in print ads for OB, Gastroenterology, Orthopedics, and Cardiology:        

Sleep Lab Opens at SRMC

The Sleep Lab at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center opened March 12 and includes two private rooms ont he 5th floor  for sleep studies that are supported by high tech sleep equipment.  The lab is open throughout the week and is overseen by a Board Certified physician and staffed by contracted polysomnographic technologists with expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders. Tutorials Now Available for Meditech

Got a question about Meditech? Help is a click away! A “Tutorials” button has been added to the Meditech Desktop.  This link goes to a website where there are 1-5 minute podcasts and demos covering the areas of Clinical Review, Computerized Provider Order Entry, Provider Desktop, and Provider Documentation.  Links are displayed across the bottom of this site. The same link has also been placed on Spotsylvania’s Intranet site under the Resources column.

Physician Advisory Group Update

VERICIS Auto-Fax Functionality:  A recent capability was added to our diagnostic cardiology software. Cardiac Catheterization reports and other information can now be auto-faxed directly after the procedure instead of waiting for the report to transfer into Meditech. This addition has improved the readability as well as availability of post-procedure information to primary care and referring physicians. Continue reading ‘Physician Advisory Group Update’
