Cancer Center Update

The linear accelerator vault has been built, the canopy entrance facing I-95 has gone up, and the interior is being completed. In addition to the construction, we have begun on-boarding staff and clinicians, as well as developing our clinical protocols, policies, and care pathways. MoukhachenDr. Hala Moukhachen has joined the MultiSpecialty Health Group and will care for patients suffering from: COPD, Bronchiectasis, Asthma, Lung Cancer, Sacrcoidosis, and Lung Infections in the Immunocompromised,  Drug/Radiotherapy/Chemotherapy Toxicity, Interstitial Lung Disease, Pulmonary Fibrosis,  Pulmonary Vascular Diseases,  Pleural Diseases, and problems with Smoking Cessation.

Dr. Mohammad Jamal, Bariatric Surgeon, Joins MSHG

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAMohammad Jamal, MD, has joined the MultiSpecialty Health Group and is launching the new Weight Loss Surgery program. Dr. Jamal completed his surgical residency training as well as an Advanced Laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgery Fellowship at the Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. Until recently, he served as a Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery at University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine, Iowa City, Iowa.

With over 600 successful Bariatric cases personally performed during his academic career, Dr. Jamal has extensive experience in minimally invasive weight reduction surgery and other General Surgical procedures He is a member of several societies, including the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS), American College of Surgeons (ACS), Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), American Medical Association, Iowa Medical Society and Medical Society of Virginia.

The program will have a multidisciplinary approach, dedicated staff and emphasis on patient education as well as long-term follow-up and will specialize in:

Laparoscopic Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass (LRYGB)

Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy (LSG)

Laparoscopic Adjustable

 Gastric Banding (LAGB)
