Dr. Petres received his MD from West Virginia University School of Medicine and completed his residency at VCU Medical Center’s Medical College of Virginia.  He served as a clinical professor at VCU Medical Center and practiced in the Richmond and Fredericksburg area with Commonwealth Perinatal Services.  We thank Dr. Petres for the expertise and wonderful patient care that he provided to our community!

In 1993 Dr Petres cared for my high risk pregnancy wife. She was pregnant with discordant twins and having great difficulty. He was even advised to sacrifice the smaller twin in favor of the survival of the other. By following a meticulous and scientific approach, both twins survived. I was an intern and we moved out of Virginia for my residency shortly after. All those years I wanted to contact him and thank him for his professionalism. Both twins graduated college in 2015. My son is working in investment banking and his twin sister will start medical school in 2 weeks. Congratulations Dr. Petres on 50 years of practice. Our family is a living testimony of your knowledge and professionalism. God bless
