SRMC Recognized as a Top Performer by the Joint Commission

Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center has been recognized as a 2014 Top Performer on Key Quality Measures by the Joint Commission – the leading accreditor of healthcare organizations in the United

“Our hospitals continue to strive for excellence in patient safety, quality of care and positive outcomes,” said Ann Latstetter, chief nursing officer, HCA Capital Division.  “I commend our health care teams for their hard work and dedication in keeping our patients top priority, and am confident that we will maintain the highest standards.”

The Top Performers program recognizes hospitals that attain excellence on accountability measures related to evidence-based care for certain conditions, including heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, surgical care, children’s asthma, inpatient psychiatric services, stroke, venous thromboembolism, immunization, and perinatal care.

“The Joint Commission’s Top Performers recognition uses objective data to determine the top hospitals, and we are proud that more than three-quarters (78%) of our hospitals have been recognized for their consistent achievement of high performance levels on key quality measures,” said Dr. Jonathan B. Perlin, HCA’s chief medical officer and president of clinical services.  “We appreciate our colleagues across the country whose dedication to evidence-based clinical practices helps ensure the best possible outcomes for the patients we’re privileged to treat.”
