New Beds Added to Behavioral Health

The demand for mental health in-patient and outpatient services is increasing in the local area. To respond to the need, Spotsylvania Regional has added 10 new beds to the Behavioral Health unit. Please read the details below in an article that appeared in the Free LanceStar on Nov 30, 2014:

Call Schedule Change Process

At the October MEC meeting, it was approved for the call schedule change process to be updated.  Beginning effective December 1^st, you will find an online form on the the Spotsylvania Regional website, http://spotsrmc.com/careers/medical-staff-services.dot, which must be completed and submitted for any call schedule changes.  This form, once completed online, will go directly to the generic Medical Staff Service Email account, so that Kyesha and Quincey can both access this information to promptly process this change. It was additionally approved that all call changes for the previous month would need to be turned in by the 5^th day of the following month.

DR. NOMA REHMAN JOINS MULTISPECIALTY HEALTH GROUP

Please join us in welcoming Dr. Noma Rehman, Board Certified Neurologist, to our medical staff. Dr. Rehman completed a Psychiatry/Internal Medicine Internship and a Neurology Residency at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System in 2007. She earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Science degree from Dow Medical College prior to that.

Update to Rules and Regulations Medical Records Plan

At the August 26 MEC meeting and the September 3rd Board meeting, the following changes to the Physician Suspension part of the Medical Records Plan were approved.   These changes went into effect on November 10, 2014.

Operative Reports need to be completed within 48 hours post procedure.  The surgeon will be notified at 48 hours and if not completed by 72 hours post procedure the surgeon will be placed on suspension until the full Operative Report is complete.
